The Chicken Cabin
Believe it or not, this cabin’s first guests were of the feathered variety. The Chicken Cabin served as a coop during World War II, when the Parrish family established a farm to see the inn through lean times. The coop was converted into lodging in 1946, so rest assured that the chickens are long gone. What remains are live-edge pine siding and original wainscoting that capture the rustic charm of the classic Seesaw’s experience. The patio entrance is built out of slate from a local quarry, nodding to the inn’s heritage and local roots.
The three-king bedroom, three-bath cabin features kitchenettes on both floors for maximum ease and comfort, allowing it to be rented as a whole or separately: Come stay in the Fox’s Den on the first floor, or come home to roost in the second-floor living room, where the gas fireplace and panoramic mountain views make for one cozy coop.

We invite you to make yourself at home and take advantage of all the area has to offer. If you have any questions or need assistance, please don’t hesitate to text Guest Services at 802-379-5258. Enjoy your stay!

Coming and Going
Check-in begins at 4PM, and we’re happy to welcome you any time before 10PM, after which self-service check-in is available. Check-out is promptly at noon. Please text Guest Servies when checking out.
The four-digit code to unlock the main door will be provided to you. To unlock the exterior door from the outside, enter the code provided and wait for lock to disengage (in the dark, pressing the logo at the top will illuminate the keypad). The entry doors are programmed to automatically lock after four minutes. If you prefer to manually lock the entry door, you can press the top logo and it will lock.
Bedroom doors are pre-programmed with the same code as the main entrance. We are happy to program locks with a personal code upon advance request.
Sleeping
In addition to three bedrooms, the cabin features a sleeper sofa downstairs. With advance notice, we can provide linens for guests who would like to make use of the sleeper.
If you need additional blankets or pillows, just let the Innkeeper know.

Television
Each bedroom is equipped with LED smart TVs so you can bring along your favorite entertainment account, whether Netflix, Hulu, Amazon or other systems. We do not have a "house account" to share. There are a few FREE options within the Roku system.

Bathrooms
Downstairs bathrooms have tiled showers and upstairs bathrooms have tubs. All of our bathrooms feature glass shower doors that swing in and out. Please be careful and avoid leaning on the doors for support. Bathtubs have spring-loaded drains. Just step on the drain to seal it, and step on it again to drain the tub.
Please use the towel racks to hang towels for reuse (not for doing pull-ups). If you would like fresh towels, please leave towels in the tub or shower and Housekeeping will replace them.
Hair dryers are found in the vanity drawers along with extra toilet paper. We’re proud to stock our bathrooms with handmade amenities by Dorset Daughters, a local Vermont brand we love that uses naturally sourced ingredients. Shampoo, conditioner, moisturizer and bar soap are all
provided. Please contact the Innkeeper if you need toiletries restocked or forgot to pack any essentials.

Trash/Recycling
The kitchen features trash and recycling bins that are emptied daily. Be sure to carefully rinse empty food and drink containers before recycling to avoid attracting wildlife!
Storage
Please store your skis, snowboards, and bicycles on the racks provided outside. If you need to bring your equipment inside, we ask that you use the racks in the foyer and avoid placing any items in the window. We want to ensure that your belongings are secure. If you need additional locked storage, please reach out to the Innkeeper and we will gladly provide a valet service to store and care for anything precious.
Windows
All windows can be opened or closed. Be sure to unlock side levers before using the hand crank to open the window, otherwise, the window will break. If window screens are missing, please notify the Innkeeper. We ask that you kindly leave the screens in place—we feel strongly about our forest friends staying outside.
Please operate the window shades gently. The Roman shades are operated either by a circular pull or with a handy chain – just gently guide the chain up or down to lower or raise the shades.
Fireplaces
The fireplaces are controlled by a thermostat labeled “fireplace.” To turn the fire on, set desired temperature level (above current temperature display) and set the switch to “heat” or “on.” Before leaving the room or retiring for the evening, please turn the fire off or lower the temperature setting below current room temperature.
Please be careful NOT to touch the glass when the fireplace unit is on or still hot.

Temperature
Each floor has its own Ecobee thermostat set for everyone’s comfort, with preprogrammed temperatures tailored to day and night. Please do not adjust these manually. If you would like to adjust the temperature, please contact the Innkeeper. In individual bedrooms, the temperature can be raised or lowered according to your personal comfort by the wall control.
Housekeeping
Seesaw’s Lodge is committed to ensuring a clean unit to make your stay enjoyable. Services are based on the number of nights within your reservation. 1-2 Nights – Rooms have an initial supply of bath towels, hand towels and wash cloths. Housekeeping will not enter your room during this length of stay unless additional services are requested. 3-7 Nights – One Full Service Cleaning is provided mid-stay. Refresh Service (upon request) An optional full cleaning is also available upon request for an additional fee. Cleaning supplies are located under the sink for any immediate needs.
Pets
We love dogs! Up to two pups are welcome to join you for $50 a night, per dog, when you book the entire lodge. If they make a mess or chew the furniture, it’s not their fault—it’s their owners who might need training. That’s why we hold humans accountable for all damages and clean-up costs. Please let us know in advance if you plan to bring a pet so we can prep for your furry friend’s arrival. We ask that dogs not be left alone in the lodge and that owners crate or walk dogs during housekeeping services.
Art
We’re proud to showcase work by local artists in our rooms. If any pieces of artwork catch your eye, they may be for sale—look for a yellow sticker. Ask the Innkeeper for pricing details.
Guest Book
We would love to hear about your stay. Please feel free to share your memories, stories and experiences in our Guest Book and/or on our website under Seesaw’s Stories!
Accessibility
The lower level of the lodge is ADA compliant. Please let us know in advance if you or your guests need an accessible room.
Safety
The Boiler room and Housekeeping closets are locked for your safety. Please do not attempt to open these doors.
Boilers are propane gas-fired. If you smell gas, please evacuate the building at once and notify the Innkeeper immediately. Please note that the surveillance cameras in common areas and on site are for your security and for liability purposes. If anything goes missing, we can consult the footage; otherwise it won’t be viewed. In the event of an emergency, contact 911.
